DPC Bus Tour
Chippewa Valley Electric Cooperative, in conjunction with Dairyland Power Cooperative,
sponsors an annual bus trip for our members. This trip takes you to the La Crosse, Wisconsin
area to tour Dairyland's headquarters and one of Dairyland's generation facilities.
Dairyland was formed in December 1941.
Today, the cooperative’s generating stations (coal, hydro, natural gas, landfill gas, animal waste-to-energy) have more than 1,100 megawatt capacity.
Dairyland delivers electricity via more than 3,100 miles of transmission lines and nearly 300 substations located throughout the system’s 44,500 square mile service area.
This tour is usually held in April of every year. The coach bus leaves Cornell at
approximately 7:15 a.m. and arrives back to the Cornell area for dinner around
5 p.m. Lunch is provided at Dairyland Power's cafeteria.
Check the Calendar of Events on upper right of our web pages, the March/April
newsletters, or the March/April RE NEWS for the current year's date and time.
If interested in attending the tour, please fill out the form in the newsletter
or REC NEWS and submit to our office.
