Budget Billing

Budget Billing is available to single phase monthly consumers with at least 12 months of billing history prior to signing up for Budget Billing. Consumers on Budget Billing pay a set amount each month even if their actual bill is higher or lower than that amount.
Participation rules:
Budget amount is based on the previous 12 months' bills plus any anticipated increases.
Budget amounts are reviewed every six months and may be increased or decreased depending on actual usage of previous 12 months and actual balance (debit or credit).
Account balance due must be $0.00 before starting budget billing.
The Cooperative may discontinue Budget Billing to any consumer that misses two (2) payments in any calendar year.
Discontinuance of Budget Billing to a consumer will result in immediate payment of accumulative bill.
Budget Billing consumers shall be applicable to same rules for disconnection of service as are all other classes of consumers.

Payment Methods

You will receive your electric bill around the first of each month. The bill covers the electricity used the previous month. The bill is payable upon receipt and is considered past due if not paid by the 22nd of the month in which the bill is received. If the 22nd falls on a weekend or holiday, the bill is payable on the next workday after the holiday.
Payments may be made in four ways:
Mail — Your bill is sent in a two-way envelope with the Cooperative's return address. Please include the top portion of your statement with your payment. This will insure that your payment is recorded to the proper account. The payment sent through the mail should be made by check or money order. DO NOT SEND CASH IN THE MAIL! The Cooperative WILL NOT accept postdated checks, so please do not send them.
In Person — You may come to the Cooperative Office in Cornell. The Cooperative is open from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday - Friday. We also have a night deposit box available at the office for your convenience. This may be used at anytime but the payment will not be recorded until the next workday. Therefore, a payment left on the evening of the 22nd will not be recorded until the 23rd and your payment would be considered late.
Automatic Payment — This plan allows you to have your bill automatically deducted from your bank checking or savings account. Payment for your energy bill will be deducted on the bill due date. Please obtain an authorization form from our office or download it, fill it out and submit to our office with a cancelled check to sign up for this plan.
Credit Card — We accept: Visa and Master Card. You may write your credit card information on your bill stub and send it in. Or, you may call in your credit card information over the phone. (This is not an automatic monthly payment. You will need to submit the information every month.)

Late Payment:

A bill is considered late if it is not paid by the 22nd of the month it is due. If a payment is not received by 4 p.m. on the 22nd of the month the account is considered delinquent. Late payments are charged a 1 ½ percent delinquent rate after the second late payment in a calendar year. A delinquent account will receive a reminder two times in a 12-month period and the following time will warrant a disconnection notice. The account will then be subject to disconnection on the first day of the approaching month.

Moving:

You are responsible for the electric usage until YOU notify us you are moving. Please provide us with a forwarding address so we can send the final bill to you. We ask that you keep in touch in order that we may retire and mail capital credit checks to you in the future.
